Raymond Henault

As CDS from 2001 to 2005, he oversaw the highest operational tempo for the Canadian Forces in 50 years. It was under his leadership as CDS that ambitious efforts took shape to remake, remodel and reform the CF into a more flexible, more responsive and more capable military.

Significantly, he was elected by his peers to the top military position in NATO as Chairman of the Military Committee, a post he held for three years until just recently.
