Past Events
The Air Force Museum of Alberta has played host to a variety of events since its creation in 2009. From lecture series to exhibition launches, cadet tours and veteran rendezvous, there has been an event for civilians, military personnel, young and old alike.
Recurring Events Include:
Family Day Pilot Talks: In which the public can meet with and hear the stories of local fighter pilots who served in theatres like the Persian Gulf, the Balkans and West Germany.Flight Jacket Beer Call: A night of drinks and socializing attended by retired and active RCAF personnel as well as their friends and families. Adorning your flight jacket is optional, having a good time is mandatory.
Father’s Day Cockpit Tours: Come recreate your favourite action movies. Climb into the caulkpit of the CF-104 Starfighter, hear from the experienced pilots who mastered these powerful machines, straight out of science fiction. Don’t forget your photo op!

Tactical Days 2026 August 15th-16th
AFMA is happy to be part of the first year of a Military Museum wide initiative dubbed “Tactical Days.” This event will act as a rare showcase of a variety of Canadian Military branches and First Response units.
The Cold War exhibit will be host to a variety of fun interactives for all ages on the Saturday and Sunday of Tactical days. Come try on a flight suit and helmet, have your photo taken in the Starfighter, handle a variety of exciting instruments and flight tools from our collections, and of course meet the Airmen who flew these incredible machines.
