Commanded various squadrons and stations; discharged with rank of Wing Commander; transferred to RCAF Reserve 1945 and served as Group Captain commanding the 11th Reserve Group until retirement to Supplementary Reserve, 1960. Regular lecturer at the RCAF Staff College, Toronto; fully-trained RCAF pilot; honorary Colonel 27th Field Artillery Regiment. Awarded O.B.E. (Officer) for work in connection with radar; Canadian Decoration; Coronation Medal; U.N. and Canadian Korea medals; U.S. Legion of Merit (Officer) by U.S. Government for electronic work.

Mr. Patrick founded Canadian Aviation Electronics, or CAE as it is now known, on St. Patrick’s Day, 1947. It began operations with 18 employees in a vacant aircraft hangar at St-Hubert Airport, in the suburbs of Montreal.
