Gilbert “Gilles” Boulanger was assigned to No 425 Alouettes Squadron, where he miraculously survived a crash in a Wellington bomber that killed the rest of his crew. He completed 37 missions (7 more than a normal tour) and in 1944 received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Founder in 1946 of Montmagny Air Services. Founding member of the Club de l’aéronef expérimental de Sherbrooke (CAES) and Club de vol à voile appalachien.
Founding President of the well known air rally Les Faucheurs de Marguerites. Co-founder of Dedalius Aviation, wing manufacturer for ultra-light airplanes.
