Air Marshal (Ret'd) Clarence Rupert Dunlap of Victoria, BC was the last living RCAF Air Marshal. Dunlap had an outstanding career in war and peacetime, demonstrating extraordinary skill and leadership.
Following retirement from active service as Deputy Commander in Chief of the North American Air Defence Command (NORAD) in 1968, he proved his dedication to the cause of Canadian aviation with his fulltime voluntary work aimed at obtaining funding for and construction of the National Aviation Museum in Ottawa.
